At OYHFS, we envision a Los Angeles where every youth—in or at risk of foster care—has the opportunity to thrive. Through proper job training, career readiness, and skill development, young people throughout Los Angeles will have a clearer pathway to economic mobility. We are introducing career options and training to youth in different industries and trades to ensure they are properly prepared for a better future. By investing in job training now, we can prevent long-term societal costs related to unemployment, incarceration, and homelessness while building a generation of empowered, productive individuals.

Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services is excited to present its inaugural career and job fair at two locations, bringing essential resources and tools to youth and young adults across Los Angeles. With the support of community partners, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers, we will provide skills training and services to help hundreds of young adults explore career pathways. Featuring partners from fields such as skilled trades, retail, transportation, academics, healthcare, law enforcement, and social services, we aim to introduce youth to new career options, creating a cohesive pipeline to a stronger, younger workforce.
