Story
For 43 years, Sobell House Hospice has been providing specialist palliative care to adults with advanced, progressive illnesses and supporting families facing loss. Each year, we provide more than 3,000 people in Oxfordshire with the care they need on our ward, in our day centre, in the local hospitals and in the community.
Thanks to the support from our community, we are able to offer a wide range of services tailored to each individuals needs. In addition to day-to-day care, we offer music and art therapy, complimentary therapy, onsite catering, a transport service, occupational therapy and spiritual support. We also extend our care to offer bereavement support to families who have lost a loved one at Sobell House.
Our expert teams take the time to get to know each patient and their individual needs as we accompany them and their families on what is undoubtedly the most difficult journey they will ever make. Our focus is on the here and now from offering our patients their favourite tipple from the drinks trolley, to helping them get married we want to make every precious moment count. At the end of life, we give our patients a peaceful and dignified end, surrounded by their loved ones.
The care and support we provide costs money; £5.6 million per year. The charity fundraises to contribute £2 million annually, so we are reliant on the support of our community to ensure we can continue to provide our standard of care. With your help, we can continue to provide more people in our community with the care they need.
Thank you.
