Story

Over Land and Sea, Academy Walk, Run or Cycle Challenge

Our Academy players and staff from the Under 8-15s are taking part in a 12,345 kilometre walk, run or cycle challenge starting on Monday 18 May and ending on Sunday 31 May, to raise money for the Chelsea FC Foundation.

The games programme for our younger players has been greatly affected by the pandemic meaning all fixtures, tours and tournaments have now been cancelled. We therefore challenged the teams to make up the distance in an exciting and innovative way.

The distance of over 12,000km is reference to the amount of kilometres our youngsters would've travelled as part of their end of season tours. There were many once-in-a-lifetime destinations along the way such as Krakow, Poland, Izmir, Turkey and Bardolino, Italy. Some stops however were much closer to home, such as Watford and Southampton all of which now make up the checkpoints in the over land and sea challenge.

We have until Sunday 31 May to complete the challenge. All donations are welcome and much appreciated.

Thank you for your support!
