Story

A DEVASTATING LANDSLIDE HAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE VETERINARY CLINIC & MANY CAGES AT THE SUMATRAN ORANGUTAN CONSERVATION PROGRAMME (SOCP) RESCUE CENTRE IN NORTH SUMATRA.

The SOCP Vet Team now have nothing but OVAID has responded immediately and is sending a team to Sumatra to take a substantial supply of urgent & vital medicines & equipment which will enable the vets to function.

Our focus is to replace and re-equip the clinic facility with everything OVAID has donated over the years.

OVAID has a longstanding & very close relationship with the centre and the vets, having lived & worked alongside them. The charity has also, run specialist workshops on-site and mentored new vets.

Whilst we have drawn on our resources to supply the centre's most immediate & pressing needs, properly re-equipping a new clinic facility is a daunting task and will take a huge sum of money.

OVAID is therefore launching an urgent appeal to its supporters to raise £25,000.

All donations, no matter how large or small, help us towards our target and at this difficult time, even the price of sending a Christmas Card would make a difference.

Your donation will be used exclusively to provide veterinary equipment and medicines and to help these dedicated vets continue to provide the utmost care for their beloved orangutan under the most difficult and taxing conditions.
