Story
Our London Ambulance Service staff and volunteers are working hard during these challenging times to keep us all safe. Can you support them by taking on the Outrun an Ambulance challenge, to 'outrun' the 30 miles distance covered on average by one of our emergency ambulances in one shift, by completing 31 miles?
You can walk, run, cycle, swim, scoot, paddle or ride anything that is self-propelled. Do it on your own, with friends or as part of a team. You can set your own time-frame for your challenge, but we suggest within 3 months. The challenge is designed to suit all people and abilities.
Step 1: DECIDE which activity (i.e. run, swim, cycle) you are going to cover your mileage in, set a timeframe that challenges you and plan to either go it alone or recruit a team.
Step 2: PLAN YOUR FUNDRAISING. Set up your own Justgiving page by clicking on the orange 'Start Fundraising' button, and email londamb.lascharity@nhs.net for your Fundraising Pack.
Step 3: GO FOR IT! Everyone who completes Outrun an Ambulance challenge will receive a special Certificate of Thanks. Those fundraising heroes who complete their challenge and raise £100 or more will be sent a medal.
Your donations from Outrun an Ambulance challenge will be used to provide enhanced facilities and wellbeing support for our London Ambulance Service staff and volunteers.
Please share your progress on social media using the hashtag #Icanoutrunanambulance
THANK YOU for your support and good luck with your Outrun an Ambulance 2022 challenge!
