Story
Do you take for granted walking into a warm house at the end of a long, cold winters day, tucking into a hot meal and finally climbing into a comfortable bed? For so many rough sleepers around the city of Brighton and Hove, this is far from their reality.
The Big Sleepout will provide a glimpse of what life is like for rough sleepers and raise the much needed funds to rebuild their lives. Antifreeze is a key part of our work at Off The Fence which exists to meet the practical and emotional needs of the homeless in our city. Without the generous donations of willing participants and supporters this project simply cannot run. Will you help those most at risk in our community?
Join us on Saturday 10th October - Sunday 11th October for our first ever virtual version of this popular annual event that has raised £££££'s for our charity in the past. We have adapted the annual community event to be a safe virtual event in your 'bubble' in the comfort of your own home.
Find your sleeping bag and your warmest clothes, find a spot in a secure outdoor space at home (you can even build a den somewhere with the kids) and help us support those who are facing winter on the streets.
In the past we have always had schools, clubs and associations taking part and in 2018, we raised £12,000. However, with COVID-19 restrictions in place, we've innovated a whole new inclusive experience that everyone can get involved in and hope to raise as much as we can.
Participants will gain exclusive access to a range of exciting activities and guest appearances. More details to follow soon!
Together we can Resist Poverty, Empower People and Restore Hope across our city.
