Story
A young carer is a child, just like any other. The only difference is that young carers are responsible for the care of at least one member of their family, though they may be as young as 5 years old themselves.
These remarkable young people work incredibly hard to take care of their families, day in and day out, sometimes at great personal cost. That's why MYTIME is working to ensure that every young carer in Dorset receives the recognition and thanks they deserve this Christmas time.
With the support of their local community, MYTIME will be able to provide every young carer in the county with a gift bag, including a Christmas jumper as well as a chocolate selection box and some other goodies to play with over the Christmas holiday. We will also be holding an enormous online Christmas party for the young carers of Dorset as part of our Zoom Youth Group activities in the lead up to Christmas. This is a chance for young carers of our local community to connect and have an evening of fun with MYTIME.
It's all about bringing these extraordinary young people together, reducing feelings of isolation and proving to young carers that they are seen and valued by the wider community.
With over 1,000 goodie bags to deliver, there's a big job ahead, but if anyone can pull off Operation Christmas, it's the MYTIME team! Your mission, should you choose to accept it? To help them raise the funds they need!
Just £20 will buy one child a Christmas goodie bag that's sure to put a huge smile on their face, so please, help us show the young carers of Dorset the appreciation they deserve this Christmas time.
