What we're doing
Operation Jingle Bells is Action's annual Christmas toy appeal which has the aim of providing Christmas presents to children and young people in the local area who may otherwise not receive one. These presents are donated by students, university and LSU staff, alumni, and members of the local community.
With your help, we can make sure children across Leicestershire feel the joy and excitement of Christmas this year.
How to donate
There are three ways you can make a donation to Operation Jingle Bells:
1. Purchase a present and drop it off in Santa's Sleigh inside Loughborough Students' Union.
2. Make a monetary donation via this JustGiving page and our elves will do the shopping for you.
3. Select a gift from our Amazon Wishlist and get the present shipped straight to Santa's Sleigh! https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/25F4KY1OE67IW?ref_=wl_share
For those purchasing presents, we do recommend that gifts are priced between £5 and £15. However, every donation helps!
Please don’t worry about wrapping your gift, our elves will arrange this after they’ve matched your gift to a local child.
The last day you can drop your gift off at Santa's Sleigh, or purchase from our Amazon Wishlist, is Friday the 12th of December 2025.
What to donate
You might be wondering what makes a good present to donate. The charities we support work with over 2000 children across Leicestershire, so there’s a very good chance that whatever you choose will be loved by someone.
We collect both toys and games, as well as school supplies for local young people. School essentials include items such as school shoes, socks, school bags, stationary, exercise books and notebooks, pencil cases and water bottles. We would also love reading books suitable for primary school children, educational games and puzzles, and arts and crafts supplies.
However, if you’re still unsure, feel free to take a look at our Amazon Wishlist to either purchase directly or find some inspiration.
