About One-Eighty
One-Eighty empowers children, young people and their families to improve their mental health and re-engage with education.
Our one-to-one support is designed to engage young people with complex personal challenges (trauma, bereavement, mental health difficulties, and those with difficult family circumstances) which prevent them from engaging with school. Our focus is delivering sustainable, long-term change for each young person; putting them at the heart of our support and investing time with them and their family to give them the tools and strategies they need to have hope for the future.
Our preventative mental health projects support primary and secondary school age young people, giving them coping tools and strategies to support their mental health. Our training courses, underpinned in psychology, aim to engage professionals with new, creative thinking, tools and strategies that will aid their work with vulnerable young people.
We are celebrating 10 years of turning lives around
For 10 years, we have been responding to the needs and demands of young people's mental health. In this time, and greatly exacerbated by the pandemic, there has been a growing demand for our services, with a 40% increase in the past two years alone. Many young people who previously had mild needs are now at crisis point.
With your generous support we have already achieved so much for young people and their families. We now need your support more than ever in order to continue our work; turning lives around for children and young people in desperate need of our support.
In our 10th anniversary year we have an exciting programme of fundraising events and activities planned. To find out more visit one-eighty.org.uk/10th-anniversary-appeal You can create your own fundraising event by clicking the 'Start fundraising' button, or you can donate to our appeal right now by clicking the 'Give Now' button. Thank you for your support!
Our impact
One-Eighty are the first people who have got him and made connections which have really helped. (Foster Carer - Buckinghamshire)
The progress made with James during the last intervention was a miracle. He had not been attending school but, since One-Eighty became involved, he is now on track for his GCSEs and has maintained friendships, which was unexpected. (Teacher Oxfordshire secondary school)
One-Eighty came at a time when Kate had nothing. You intervened and provided such a positive experience when she needed it the most. We are so grateful for all the support. (Foster Carer)
After the Make Me Smile session, a parent got in contact with us to find out about counselling for their child. Their child previously experienced significant trauma but had been very resistant to talking about this. However, as a result of the session, they told their parent they felt that talking to someone about their experiences would be helpful. (Teacher)
I saw Jo after the summer break. The work undertaken with One-Eighty has had a remarkable impact on her learning and sense of self identity. (Oxfordshire Professional)
