Story
Olive High is an Independent Secondary Girls Islamic School established in September 2017. Our first intake consisted of only 18 students. The school was established in response to a call from the Burnley and Pendle community; the desire for a school that delivered educational excellence within an Islamic ethos and environment.
As of September 2020, we've grown to 144 students alhamdulillah. In 2018, Ofsted rated our school "Good with Outstanding features". Our students receive the support to develop their academic, creative and physical skills. We encourage them to be active members of the community challenging them to be their best in, and out of the classroom.
Our existing site has reached capacity. A new place is needed for us to help the next generation of girls be the best they can be. We also want a place where Olive High can do more for the community. The site we've secured is the former Burnley College building, on Ormerod Road in the centre of Burnley.
At its peak, the former Burnley College building could cater for up to 5000 students. It has state of the art facilities include an auditorium, refectory, resource centre, a library, dedicated science labs, a sports hall and over 30 large classrooms.
Olive High is committed to providing Burnley and Pendle a space with educational excellence, underpinned by Islamic teachings and ethos. With a site this size, we can have up to 500 female students, open a boys school and provide a space for community projects and local charities.
The Prophet (pbuh) said "The best gift from a father to his child is Ilm and Tarbiyah".
