Story
ODAAT Challenge 2020
ODAAT is a drug and alcohol quasi-residential male only rehabilitation program. It began about 25 years ago and grew out of a need to help the homeless people our Two Step program was housing to deal with their addiction.
We have organised an outdoor adventure which we call the ODAAT Challenge. It began as a 3 day event walking up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, however in later years we conquered different challenges, such as the Brecon Beacons and the South Downs with groups of walkers and runners.
Without donations, we could not run our program. Our goal is for this years ODAAT Challenge to raise in excess of £20,000 to help meet program costs.
This year, in COVID19, is our 12th ODAAT Challenge. As we have had to embrace technology to allow remote working to keep our program running, so too we are using technology to give more people the chance to get involved in this years challenge!
You can choose to do your own event and upload it to the site. Ideally your challenge will need to be completed week or two before the 30th November when the donations page closes. You could do anything from daily hand stands in your back garden during October, to baking and selling cookies!
Another option is to join the our 10k and 20k route on 31st October, this will be limited to 100 participants. The start and finish is at St. Marks Church, 337 Kennington Park Road, London, SE11 4PW, opposite the Oval tube station in London. If you would like to do this as your fundraising event, we need you to tell us if you plan to do the 10k or 20k route and how long you think it will take you.
Groups of 6 will then set off at 5 minute intervals from 10am with the slowest starting first. We are asking all who decide to join this event to consider having a goal to raise at least £200. Finishers will get a free T Shirt to commemorate the event.
Remember, the site will stay open for donations till the 30th November.
Thank you for taking part!
