Story

UPDATE: On a beautiful, sunny day in March, Flint House staff, ambassadors and patients worked together to tag-team row 72k - the distance from Flint House to Windsor Castle, the home of our Patron - Her Majesty the Queen.

By lunchtime we hit the 72k goal... and so took on the 72k return journey. Totalling an epic 144k rowed in only 7 hours.

All money raised will be split evenly between Flint House (to buy equipment for the gym) and for the BRITISH RED CROSS UKRAINE CRISIS APPEAL.

Every year Flint House Police Rehabilitation treats and supports over 3,000 serving and retired officers who are suffering with mental or physical injury. Located in South Oxfordshire, our charity has been helping and healing police officers since 1890. This month we are hoping to raise money by hosting a fundraising event.

We have decided that all money raised on the 24th March from our Oarsome Challenge will be split evenly between Flint House and The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Please give generously. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/oarsome

THE OARSOME CHALLENGE | Thursday 24th March will see staff, ambassadors, police officers and patients tag-team row 45 miles (73 kilometers) - representing the distance from Flint House (Goring Lock) to the home of our Patron HRH the Queen, Windsor Castle (Old Windsor Lock).

We hope to raise money to purchase some much needed equipment (listed below) for our rehabilitation department. Please do share this event and support us by donating whatever amount you can.

We are dividing all funds raised with the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

What your donation means to the British Red Cross:

Red Cross teams in Ukraine have distributed over 90,000 food and hygiene parcels and provided food, warm clothes, and other aid to around 7,000 people sheltering in metro stations in Kyiv. First aid training has also been delivered to over 12,000 people taking cover in metro stations and bomb shelters, so they have the skills to treat their loved ones if needed. Red Cross teams in bordering countries are offering medical care and providing food, aid and shelter to people arriving from Ukraine.
