The South Carolina Aquarium’s Ocean Alliance is dedicated to ensuring that all members of the community, regardless of socioeconomic barriers, enjoy close connections to water, wildlife and wild places. The Aquarium’s Angelfish Program hosts special access events for underserved communities, and makes membership and visitation more accessible.

In 2023, 571 individuals were provided tickets through the Angelfish Program, and over 4,700 individuals visited for free through partnerships with the tri-county library systems. Nearly 4,000 guests visited the Aquarium through other special access events hosted seasonally.

A gift of $35 secures a ticket for a visitor in need, enabling them to learn about the conservation and animal care innovations underway at the Aquarium.

A gift of $220 secures a family membership, enabling a local family to experience the wonder and joy of seeing the Great Ocean Tank and the hundreds of fish that call it home.
