Story
Thank you for all your donations, and special thanks to our volunteer fundraisers. We're pleased to have been able to award 10 bursaries for 2022 Youth Band courses and will award bursaries to the Children's Band shortly. We're closing the fund now but will be back fundraising for 2023 bursaries soon!
Thank you to everyone who supported the NYBBGB Bursary Fund for 2021. We are now raising funds to provide means-tested bursaries to young people attending our 2022 course. We hope to welcome 130 young musicians to the Children's Band and the Youth Band residential courses at Easter and summer 2022 for our 70th anniversary year. They will receive instrumental tuition from outstanding specialist tutors, be conducted by world leaders in their field, tackle advanced brass band repertoire and make new friends for life.
The NYBBGB Bursary Fund aims to ensure that no young musician is excluded from this fabulous experience due to cost. We hope to raise £10,000 to provide at least 12 means-tested bursaries and 6 leadership awards for young musicians attending courses in 2022. We really hope you can help by making a donation. The NYBBGB is a registered charity, established in 1952.
The NYBBGB is the UK's leading brass band charity for children and young people. We exist to give the brightest young brass and percussion musicians the opportunity to develop their musicianship, play together and inspire others. Entry is by audition and our young musicians have serious potential. We are growing the next generation of brass and percussion instrumentalists, teachers and music leaders.
