Story
Last year you helped us raise an amazing £18k to support our community programme and work with those affected or living with dementia and older people. This year our Christmas Appeal will promote positive mental health and well-being through a range of creative and participatory projects.

Good mental health is more than the absence of a mental health problem. Positive well-being is about thriving and key to this is enabling people to talk about what they feel, recognising they are not alone, opening up and normalising mental ill health.
There is evidence that two thirds of us will experience a mental health problem in our lifetimes, and stress is a key factor in this. Evidence suggests that a small improvement in well-being can help to decrease some mental health problems and also help people to flourish.
Research shows that taking part in arts activities helps to alleviate anxiety, depression and stress both within and outside education and the workplace. Almost 60% of people are likely to report good health if they attend a cultural place or event in the past 12 months.
We will harness the power of creativity to support people of all ages in Norwich and Norfolk to maintain positive mental health and well-being.
Below are some examples of mental health and wellbeing projects that your donation will support.
Community Choir
Our non-audition group is open to all regardless of experience offering weekly opportunity to have fun with other like-minded people. As a mixed- voiced group singing an eclectic range of popular and contemporary classics this project is based on an understanding that singing improves health and well-being.
Your donation will enable us to run this project free for one year.
Creative Matters
Our bi-annual project highlights some of society's more challenging issues through a month long series of free and paid for performances, workshops, exhibitions and film screenings to create opportunities for conversations.
Your donation will support this programme.
Training & Skills
Our year round courses develop participants' curiosity, knowledge and skills. Our range of courses are for individuals aged 7 to 70 who are interested in theatre skills, professional training, artistic development and lifelong learning.
Your donation will support free places on our courses.
We believe in the power of creativity to transform lives. You can play a part in this.
