Story
As the floods begin to recede following the recent devastating rainfall combined with overflowing rivers and lakes in the Northern and Eastern provinces and the Hill countries of Sri Lanka; our partners are still working diligently with the authorities and several Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), to assist the affected.
ACF has to date funded and delivered dry rations and hygiene products, and in some areas, cooked food, to the areas which are primarily remote villages in
• Trincomalee
• Mutur
• Batticaloa
• Mannar
• Mankulam
• Hill countries, to name but a few
We are continuously receiving requests for assistance and are making this appeal to continue our support of the affected families with their immediate needs; and to help them with the recovery in the aftermath of these floods.
Families are trying to get back to their homes but finding that they are in need of
the following essential items:
• Drinking water
• Food items
• Essential items for children and elders (Milk powder, pampers, etc)
• Sanitary products
• Hygiene products
• Beddings (mats, mosquito nets, etc)
• Protective items such as tarpaulins to name but a few
Needs are immediate, and essential as the majority of the affected people are daily wage earners, who are presently without any income.
Please donate generously, for us to be able to continue to assist as many affected families as possible.
Thank you in anticipation of your kind support
