Come and join the nation and take on the 2.6 Challenge and fundraise for Nourish Community Foodbank.
Nourish provides emergency food, provisions and support to individuals and families across the borough of Tunbridge Wells and South Tonbridge at a time of financial crisis. Due to the coronavirus, Nourish is now helping almost double the number of people it normally supports and we need your help.
This is food for 10 families in crisis. It will support them for just 3 days. We are sending out between 130 and 150 family foodbags a week so we need 13 to 15 times this much food just for our families!!! Each bag costs us £27 on average and our co-chair Paul will add £1 to every £26 donated to Nourish in this campaign to pay for a bag!
We are really thrilled that you are thinking of getting involved in this national campaign to help save UK charities and we can't wait to hear what you come up with for your #TwoPointSixChallenge
From 2.6 to 26 - it's your choice, your challenge. We are sure you will have some brilliant ideas of your own, but for those needing some inspiration, here are a few ideas....
Medley Mashup - sing 26 of your favourite songs in a medley that lasts 26 minutes
Get Active - Run, cycle or walk 2.6 miles as part of your daily exercise
Share the love - join together 26 friends or family members via zoom and have a dance party for 26 minutes
Virtual quiz - come up with 26 questions and run a virtual quiz - everyone who takes part, donates
Use your brain - Read 26 books or write 26 stories/poems/song lyrics in 2.6 months
Eat - Could you eat 26 cream crackers in 26 minutes? Maybe 26 cream cakes in 26 hours is better? Or face the fear and eat something you really don't like - at Nourish HQ ours would be olives, strawberry creams, jalapenos or anything marmite!! BUT you choose - just make sure it's whatever doesn't take your fancy!
Team effort - throw a ball around your household members for 26 minutes without dropping it
Gym bunnies - Hold a plank for 2.6 minutes? 26 press ups in 2.6 minutes? 26 minute circuit to include 26 burpees, squats, sit ups and lunges?
There are no rules apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time.
The main thing is to have fun and pledge whatever you can to help people in crisis in Tunbridge Wells, South Tonbridge and the surrounding area. They need us and we need you, now, more than ever.
