Story
For "Giving Tuesday Now," please consider giving a gift to the NOHLC's Nature Relief Fund today, so that we can continue to be your land and wildlife protector, your environmental educator and your fellow nature lover.
With canceled Spring and Summer fundraising events, canceled volunteer days and a downtrend in donations, we like many nonprofits are feeling the financial stress of the COVID-19 pandemic. At NOHLC we heavily rely on our in-person events (such as our galas, nature outings & house dinners) and in-person volunteering to provide much of the annual power we need to tend to our preserves and protect new land.
Your donation will do magical things for us as we see through to the other side of this pandemic. This $5,000 NOHLC Relief Fund will help us with our most basic financial needs during this difficult time.
If you can, please give, and be our source of relief.
But literally, help us keep the lights on for the next two months. We pay a modest $600 in rent per month for our small office where we create outreach programs, maintain legal and ecological land records, hold committee meetings and work with supporters and volunteers.
In order to raise money, spread our mission and communicate with our supporters, we need access to our wifi network and our office phones. This fund will help us with our phone and internet bill for the next two months.
The open lands that you have helped us protect over the last 48 years harbor special ecosystems. Rare and endangered plants as well as animals have a home in the hills and wetlands, streams and bogs. Your gift ensures a bit of wildlife will still be around for your great, great grandchildren and we can live in harmony with nature.
That land is a community is the basic concept of ecology, but that land is to be loved and respected is an extension of ethics. - Aldo Leopold
