Story

Please help us make sure that we can still be here for children and families both during and after COVID-19

The Noah's Ark Charity relies solely on public donations to do what we do. As an organisation we always have a small reserve of money set aside that would allow us to continue our support of the hospital if income were to decrease for a while. But this situation is unprecedented and with the significant drop in income we have already seen, we are concerned and want to do everything we possibly can to ensure the charitys stability.

Covid-19 has already made a big impact on our ability to raise funds. To date we have made the difficult decision to cancel or postpone our events and our little shop in the hospital has had to close. And we fear that this may be the tip of the iceberg.

Despite this, we remain 100% committed to the care and well-being of the children and families of Noah's Ark. This fund will allow us to give direct support wherever needed during this current crisis.

With your help, we will be able to help fund the following:

- 10 iPads for each child and family who need one in the hospital so that they can see each other over video. These are £349 each (but were working on getting a bulk discount).

- Emergency food banks for parents at the hospital - There are kitchen facilities on the ward, so were hoping to buy long-life foods so that parents can make themselves decent meals. It costs £35 for a week's food for a parent living in isolation at the hospital

- Our Star Fund which provides gifts for our frontline NHS staff. Working on the wards has never been more stressful and difficult; so, every week, the team will nominate a colleague to receive a small gift, like audiobooks or a subscription to a mindfulness app to help them to cope during their off-duty days. Making a contribution of £20 to the Star Fund will help nurses, doctors and support staff to keep going.

Noah's Ark is a relatively small charity. We know many of our families personally. We want to do everything possible to continue to help ensure the very best care for them and the thousands of others who receive specialist and often life saving care at the hospital each year. Now, next month, next year and for many more years to come.

We need urgent help during this difficult and uncertain time for the children and families we support.

Please help us.

Thank you.
