Story
Transition from paediatric to adult care is a challenging time for young people and families living with Duchenne. This process goes hand in hand with the move into adulthood, another difficult process for many individuals living with Duchenne who increasingly may find independence challenging, struggle with managing their own care, finding a job and in reaching their full potential.
Our project has a simple aim: to empower adults living with Duchenne, so they can seize control of their lives. We want to remove the limits imposed by the challenges of transition.
£21,000 will enable us to offer 8 places on our inclusive residential weekend of workshops, meetings and events to provide professional and peer-led life skills training in a non-clinical setting.
Thank you
A big thank you for supporting our life-changing support projects, which will have an impact on so many young people and adults living with Duchenne here in the United Kingdom.
