Story
We have recently suffered the loss of our largest shelter, due to severe flooding and with ponies still pouring in from desperate situations we are hoping to raise £3,200, so we can buy a replacement Field Shelter as soon as possible.
Our amazing "Shirley's Shelter" was donated to us by a wonderful family with money inherited from dear Shirley who always wanted to do something like this to help with rescued animals.
Just last Friday we took in two beautiful elderly ponies, who are best friends and they have been together their whole life. Sadly, their owner passed away some months ago and friends of the owner had tried every way to find a home where they would be kept together. As no solution had been found, the next step was to have them both put to sleep and at that stage, we decided to step in.
They are totally devoted to one another! Just changing their rugs this morning, they have to be held close together, even to the point of eating out of the same feed bucket!
We feel with so many golden oldies here now, all needing warm stables, we will put our hardy younger rescue ponies into free range shelters, with lots of warm rugs, then lots of these oldies can have the warmer indoor stables.
With the harshest Winter months still to come, we are hoping to raise this money as soon as possible! It is so important to us that all of our animals have a warm, safe place to sleep at night. Every penny raised via this fundraiser will go to replacing this much needed shelter.
The same company who supplied Shirleys Shelter, Fallen Oak Timber Buildings need two weeks to make, deliver and erect the new shelter.
Their prices have gone up like everything else in the world, however they will keep the price the same as for "Shirleys Shelter" at £3,200.
No amount is too small, every penny makes such a difference! Thank you all so very much for your continued support
