Story
We are pleased to announce the launch of our 4th Annual Pin Pool! We witnessed record-breaking success last season with 156 unique members who helped us reach our goal of raising $300 for every pin our team earned in the 2022-2023 season.
This year we set a new and even bigger goal to earn $400 per pin! For supporters who are unfamiliar, the Pin Pool is a wrestling-focused fundraiser that we use to supplement our annual operating budget for competition travel, recruiting, facility maintenance, training equipment, singlets, warm-ups, and activities that enhance the student-athlete experience at Newberry. Gifts from last season were used to help purchase a brand new competition mat that was just shy of $20,000! (see artwork below)
To join the Pin Pool all you have to do is pledge to give a specific dollar amount for every pin the team accumulates by the end of the season. For example, if you pledge to give $1 per pin and the team finishes the season with 90 pins, your gift amount would be $90. If we finished with 90 pins and you pledged to give $2 per pin, your gift would be $180. For reference, last season we had 60 pins. We anticipate between 65 and 75 pins this coming season. Pin Pool members will not fulfill pledges until the end of the season when Coach Brown or Coach Blanton reaches to each supporter via email with pledge fulfillment information. Pledges are categorized into three tiers that come with different incentives.
All gifts are tax-deductible and all members will receive monthly updates via email from Head Wrestling Coach, Deral Brown on the running total. Members can also keep up with the action once the season starts by following the team on social media, checking Official Wrestling Website, or by tuning in to the Pack Leader Podcast. Thank you for your support! GO WOLVES!
