11th July 2020 marks the 25th year anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica where thousands of innocent people lost their lives. We would like to commemorate and honour their memory on this day and invite you to join us by taking part in a challenge of your choice.

Islamic Relief's History in Bosnia

IR has been on the ground in Bosnia since 1992 during the Bosnian war. That's 28 years of delivering humanitarian aid and emergency relief.

Food, clothing, water and firewood were distributed through our offices and warehouses. After the initial emergency response, we rebuilt houses and public buildings like schools that were damaged by the conflict.

In 2001, we set up an interest-free loans system based on Islamic Financing principles, which continues to support unemployed people and provide real routes out of poverty. The number of business and housing loans issued by IslamicRelief increase year on year.
