The Neston Fund
Local people helping their neighbours to access support when they need it the most.
The Neston & District Community Fund managed by Cheshire Community Foundation exists to support charities, CIC’s and voluntary organisations delivering services within the CH64 postcode area. It was started by a group of community minded local businessmen who recognised that whilst the Neston area is generally perceived as ‘comfortable’, there are pockets of real poverty and deprivation, often hidden and sometimes overshadowed by more visible areas of need in Ellesmere Port.
The first grant of £600 was allocated to the Friends of West Vale Park in 2015, and over the last eight years, whilst membership of the Fund has evolved and grown, care for the community in CH64 remains at its very heart.
Small charities working locally have an extraordinary capacity to change lives for the better. Since 2015, donors to the Fund have given over £65,000 to local good causes supporting children, the elderly, young families, mental health, social isolation, food poverty, activities for teenagers, intergenerational projects, community events and shared community spaces.
