The pressure of lockdown will increase domestic violence dramatically. We know this from evidence coming out of China and Italy and our own experience here where we have already noticed an upswing in requests for help. Women and children who can usually escape to a refuge or safe house are now confined with their abuser, with no option to leave and stay with friends or family.

It's a terrifying idea, isnt it?

NDADA runs the only Refuge in Devon, and we're asking you to give a small donation so we can provide more services and support during the lockdown. It will save lives.

NDADA stands for North Devon Against Domestic Abuse. We run the only Refuge in the whole of Devon for women and children fleeing domestic violence. We receive no dedicated public funding for this service and we support families from all over the county who need to escape to safety.
