The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said, Who so ever feeds a fasting person will have the reward of the fasting person without his rewards being reduced.
At Global One, we believe that everyone should have the right to a fulfilling Ramadan in spite of poverty. However, poverty often stands as an obstacle during this Holy Month. The COVID-19 pandemic means that the need for food distributions has never been greater.
The reality is that for a lot of families living in slums or rural communities, poverty hinders their experience of Ramadan. With hunger on the upsurge, the chances increase that those on low incomes will break lockdown restrictions in order to avoid starvation
This is why each year we have delivered a number of Ramadan Food Pack Distributions to impoverished communities. As a result families can channel their energy into self-reflection or earning a living, rather than where their next meal is going to come from. Food packages contain essential ingredients such as rice, flour, lentils, oil, sugar, salt and powdered milk.
Global Ones past distributions to more than 8,000 families have had great effects on communities. This is because pressure has been uplifted from local communities to feed their needy. It is our responsibility therefore, to take on that pressure, to allow the poor to have a blessed Ramadan.
