Story
Thank you for supporting MTV Staying Alive Foundation.
On Sunday the 3rd October we will be at The London Marathon!
We produce award winning behaviour change campaigns, and train peer educators across the globe. To date we have reached millions of young people. With your support we can continue to reach young people, encouraging them to take care of their health and empower them to feel worthy of healthy futures.
We cover vital topics such as sexual and reproductive health (including HIV prevention), gender-based violence, mental health, LGBT+ issues, and most recently, COVID-19.
Our messaging is aimed at young people and adolescents across the world, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa and India. Adolescents and young people make up the largest population group in sub-Saharan Africa but huge numbers simply do not have access to the information to help them safeguard their own health.
Our flagship edutainment campaign MTV Shuga speaks to this group directly to tackle this issue. However, many people in the poorest communities dont have the means to access our messaging in the same way. We address this through our peer education scheme, which to date has trained over 1,000 young people across Kenya, Nigeria, India and South Africa. They share our vital health information and signpost people to local services, helping to secure better health and wellness for their own communities. Thanks to our peer educators, weve helped over 200,000 more young people who we wouldnt otherwise be able to reach.
The money you raise will go directly to support our campaigns and peer education projects across Africa and India, helping us reach even more young people with our life-saving health messaging. Thank you for helping us to builder a brighter future for young people.
