Story

5 October 2022, update.

They smashed it! Our team did so well on Marathon day! We are so proud of them. The MPS Society cheer squad managed to spot them all as they raced past with a smile and a wave! We were thrilled to hear that a 13th runner, Michael, had chosen to support the MPS Society and quickly added him to the app so we could track him too. The team has also smashed their fundraising target of £12,000 which we set for them. As we write, they are heading towards £17,500. What an achievement! Well done #TeamMPS. We hope you're all enjoying a rest this week! :)

29 September 2022, update.

It's been another challenging year but our team of 12 amazing runners are ready to take on the London Marathon on 2nd October and we can't wait. Our team consists of Luke, Shelley, Elliot, James, Ant, Mark, Debbie, Tim, Gemma, Adam, Chris and Duncan, all running for different reasons in honour of people they know or have known with MPS, Fabry and related diseases. Our cheer squad will be heading to mile 14 and then mile 21 so we can cheer our team twice. If you see us on the day, do stop and say hi - we'll be wearing MPS Society t-shirts and we'll be the ones with the noisy kazoos! Good luck #TeamMPS. We are so excited and so grateful for all your hard work and dedication which has led you all to the big day. Good luck and see you there! :)

Our amazing team of London Marathon runners are taking on the 2022 TCS London Marathon on 2nd October for the MPS Society!

The MPS Society provides vital support to families affected by one of 27 rare, life limiting genetic conditions. We want all affected children and adults to have access to exceptional support and advice, world-class clinical care and effective treatments.

Our team are busy training and raising funds and this is where you can help. You can come along on the day and cheer on the team, donate to an individual runner's page or spur on the whole team by donating via this page. We're aiming to raise an ambitious £12,000 so anything you can spare will help us reach our goal.

As a small charity we rely on wonderful people like our team of runners to raise funds so we can transform the lives of those affected.

"The MPS Society has been very helpful in sending supportive information and offering to put us in touch with other families who are affected by MPS. I know that in the difficult times to come, the MPS Society will be there for us."
