Moveathon 2026

Campaign by HHT Ireland

Join us for Moveathon 2026 on Saturday 20th June in support of HHT Ireland and help raise awareness of HHT ahead of World HHT Day on 23rd June. Wherever you are in the world, we invite you to get moving!

Closes 01/08/2026

HHT is a rare blood-vessel disorder which can be fatal if left undiagnosed/untreated. HHT Ireland works tirelessly to raise awareness of HHT & support families living with HHT. 90% sufferers go undiagnosed - this has got to change. Help us to make that change!

Story

Moveathon 2026 is more than just a day of activity - it is a global movement to raise awareness of HHT, a rare genetic blood vessel disorder that is often misunderstood, misdiagnosed or missed entirely.

For HHT Ireland, this campaign is deeply personal.

In 2012, Paul Woods died at just 22 years of age due to complications from HHT. Paul was vibrant, kind, funny and full of life. His death was devastating for his family and friends, and it highlighted the urgent need for greater awareness, earlier diagnosis and better understanding of HHT among medical professionals worldwide.

HHT can affect the lungs, brain, liver and other organs, yet many people live for years without a diagnosis. Early detection and appropriate screening can save lives. No family should lose a loved one because this condition was not recognised or treated in time.

Moveathon 2026 takes place on Saturday 20th June, ahead of World HHT Day on 23rd June and invites people everywhere to move in any way they can — walk, run, swim, cycle, golf or gather with friends and family — to help shine a light on this rare condition.

Every donation helps HHT Ireland continue its work supporting families, advocating for awareness and encouraging earlier diagnosis so that lives can be protected and tragedies like Paul’s can be prevented.
