Story

We have chosen to raise money for an incredible childhood cancer charity, Finnbar's Force, to help them continue the amazing work they do to support families when they need it the most.

Finnbar's Force was set up in 2017 after the loss of Finnbar Cork to a brain tumour on Friday 5th August 2016, just five months after he was diagnosed. The charity provides support to families with children under 18 who have been diagnosed with brain tumours and childhood cancers in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The charity is committed to making every family feel that they are supported when and where they need to be and they have a small team of volunteers to support families emotionally and practically, in their homes and at hospital. They have also developed an information toolkit for families to direct them to the best online resources and support them in connecting with other charities and services that can help them locally.

Finnbar's Force held their first big charity ball in April this year, and later in May 2024 will be opening their first Family Support Centre in Eaton, Norwich which is a big milestone for the charity and will allow them to increase the support they offer on a daily and weekly basis to families.

The team know that dealing with a paediatric brain tumour can be an incredibly challenging and emotional experience, and their Family Support Centre will aim to ease some of the burdens by offering various forms of emotional/psychological support, networking, practical assistance and information.

The charity is on a steep growth journey so it's a critical time for them to increase awareness, fundraising, and support for a critical cause, and with your support they can enhance their offering, and help even more families when they need it the most!

If you don’t climb the mountain, you can’t see the view!
