COVID-19 Shut The Mosques... We Opened Them Again - Online!
At Islamic Network, our aim is to empower and support Mosques to engage and nurture the young men and women in their community online and in person. We do this through a combination of grassroots events for Mosques, collaborative projects for communities and leadership development for future leaders, Imams and Mosque Leaders.
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we launched the Taking Mosques DIGITAL project to help Mosques and community organisations go DIGITAL - the response and appreciation has been GLOBAL with over 230 Imams / Mosques from Toronto to Lagos and everywhere in between taking part!
Help us empower Mosques to survive and keep going in these immensely difficult times, and once this lockdown is over - to become the hub of the community for young people once again!
The doors of the Mosques are closed, but with our and your support, theyve been able to come online to help their local community stay connected this Ramadan!
Islamic Network have done an amazing job in this guide. We should all use this opportunity that Allah SWT has given us to upskill our imams, committees and volunteers to be better in supporting and engaging our congregations and the wider community inshaaAllah. - Rizvan Khalid, Euro Quality Foundation
May I say congratulations on this project, we should ALL adopt this moving forward. I have learnt a lot with going digital, and we should take advantage of this. Well Done Islamic Network. - Shahzad Hussain, UKIM
Alhumdulillah the guide is very useful. We've taken from the guide things we know we can achieve. The direction in itself has been a blessing, the lockdown made everyone feel a little lost. May Allah SWT reward Islamic Network - Noor Ul Islam Masjid & Primary School
Why Islamic Network?
We are actively working online and at the grassroots level with a network over 230 Imams / Mosque Leaders from around the world who mirror our concerns with their own experience of trying to nurture young people in their local communities.
Through research conducted online and on the ground by us at all our events and others, all of our activities focus on dealing with the root-cause issues that are leading young people to drugs, pre-marital relationships, gangs, severe mental health issues and more.
From our grassroots activities through to our leadership development work, we focus on (1) creating a positive Islamic identity and environment for our young people, (2) giving young people access to and understanding of who their inspirational and aspirational role models should be, both contemporary and historic and (3) inculcating positive character traits like courage, empathy and humility in all our young people.
Even in the smallest of communities, our activities consistently attract between 30 to 70 13-25 years olds highlighting that there is a dire need for the services we provide. From Milkshaykh Nights to our Born Leaders Development Programme - the demand on the ground for our experience and expertise is overwhelming!
Support us to empower our communities right now!
The young people in our community are our present - not our future. Who are we building our Mosques and institutions for if not them?
