Morpeth Rugby Club are undertaking a £600,000 redevelopment of the existing clubhouse, this summer. The club is a not-for-profit organisation, over many decades it has given hundreds of Morpeth men, women and children the opportunity to play rugby. The club also represents a vital social space for non-playing members and offers the people of Morpeth a facility for a wide range of events.

The plans aim to secure a sustainable future for the club and guarantee the benefits of a thriving local sports club for future Morpeth generations to come. The building project is to develop a first class function facility for weddings and events in a beautiful setting, which will provide revenue to allow the club to survive. The club was a sorely missed resource throughout the COVID pandemic. Like many organisations, we are trying to recover from the financial effects of that period. The physical and mental health benefits for all involved are plain to see for anyone who visits the club on a busy Saturday afternoon, while senior games are taking place and old friends are meeting up for a pint. Sunday mornings are even more hectic with our armies of boys and girls representing our mini and junior rugby teams against clubs from across the North East.

Girls and boys junior rugby for teenagers

Girls and boys mini rugby from under-6 upwards

Annual town fireworks display, plus beer festival and sevens rugby tournament

Event spaces for an array of functions, including a beautiful outside setting
