Story
We are closing the museum to the public from December through March and we are transforming the site into even more of a community action hub than usual.
We will be taking action together all winter, ensuring as much practical support is given to the community as possible.
This will include:
• Provision of essentials such as winter grade sleeping bags, handwarmers, socks, thermals and other items.
• Hot meals, hot chocolate and cosy activities at the museum.
• Crisis trauma informed coaching for mental health support.
• Moving in kits for when people get a place indoors.
• An emergency extreme weather shelter run when SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) is called by the GLA. The shelter will be provided in extreme weather from January - April
• Respite emergency hotel rooms for community members where needed between December - January
We will also be hosting the community in the museum on Christmas eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, ensuring no one in our community faces Christmas alone.
We are ready for what is set to be a very difficult winter but we need your help. Can you donate to support? We are small and grassroots, so all funds raised here will go directly to the community. Not one penny will be used on admin, marketing or fundraising.
What’s more, we have some amazing MoH champions who have generously offered to double every pound raised in this appeal up to January 31st. So every pound you give will be worth twice as much to our community.
Thank you so much for your support! We appreciate you! If you can’t give, please share!
Remember, our solidarity is our most potent weapon.
Admin update:
Please note that if you tick 'no further contact' justgiving makes your donation completely anonymous on the back end so we can't see your name or email. We have to try and work out who gave what from the public page.
If you do want to stay in touch, please either don't tick 'no further contact' or email adam@museumofhomelessness.org we promise not to spam you. Thankyou so much for your care for MoH.
