DO YOU LOVE FASHION?
ARE YOU SICK OF NOT SEEING YOURSELF REPRESENTED?
BE PART OF THE CHANGE AT THIS YEARS LONDON FASHION WEEK...
Charity MODELS OF DIVERSITY is fundraising to put on a revolutionary diverse and representative catwalk show at Londons iconic Freemasons Hall
This show is not just about fashion, it is about showing diversity, inclusion and representation where it would not normally be seen! We work with size, age, colour, ability and LGBTQIA communities as well as other underrepresented groups, and with this catwalk, it is our dream to showcase a real snapshot of society as a whole!
Models of Diversity is a registered charity started by black activist Angel Sinclair over 14 years ago to campaign for more diversity in the fashion, beauty and media industry, by opening it up to the beautiful people that we don't often get to see on our Instagram feeds, billboards, TV ads and runways.
We're hugely excited that we have had confirmation that on 12th June, with the support of the British Fashion Council, Models of Diversity will be holding a BFC Scheduled, positive, revolutionary catwalk show at Freemasons Hall in London.
Following over a decades work, we are hugely frustrated that Fashion weeks around the world still do not represent our society, its not only disheartening to see a return to a very singular body type on the catwalk, virtually no models with visible disabilities and only a tiny percentage of black models, it is also proven to be damaging for our mental health.
The point is not to shame the models used, but to call attention to the issues. It is time fashion reflects the whole clothes-wearing population, in race, gender, size and age.
Retailers and designers need to see how the industry should and can cater to the wonderfully diverse community it serves.
We are raising money for production, lighting, models and to put on the show we all want and deserve to see!
EVERY LITTLE HELPS!
