On Friday 25th February 2022, the Millside Centre celebrated its 5th birthday!

So, to mark this momentous occasion, we are running a fundraising appeal to encourage our friends and supporters to donate towards the amazing work that takes place here, which we have the privilege of being a part of - seeing people improve their lives for good.

The Millside Centre is a community centre based in Bradford city centre. Working alongside local partners, other charities and agencies, we have created a safe and welcoming space where some of the most vulnerable people in the city find the help and services they need.

Whether in the Centre or outside in the community, we aim to create an environment of trust, peace, safety and acceptance. We provide helpful services and activities which build people up and offer comfort and hope, so that lives are transformed, enabling people to reach their full potential.

The Millside Centre currently runs a wide variety of different activities and projects each week, serving the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, the unemployed, those with mental health issues and victims of domestic abuse.

Despite the pandemic, we have been fortunate to continue to run essential services to meets the needs of local people with a hybrid of online and face-to-face sessions.

Here's what is on offer right now:

- English classes

- Job club

- Support groups for domestic abuse victims

- Peer support for people struggling with their mental health

- Knitting group for women to reduce isolation and build friendships

- Support for people who are facing homelessness and destitution

- Catering training café and employability project for refugees and asylum seekers

- Befriending Project to reduce isolation

- Fitness, wellbeing and nutrition sessions

- Digital Skills course

- Weekly singalong session for local care home residents

We have some amazing, dedicated staff as well as a team of passionate volunteers.

Your generous donation will help towards the core costs of running our activities, volunteer expenses, travel costs for vulnerable service users, paying sessional workers and more. The Millside Centre is run by the Christian charity Reach Beyond.

We also hire out our rooms for training events, workshops and counselling if you are ever in need of a city centre venue.
