Our CTO, Andrew Herbert, has recently been diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) at the age of 51. In Andrew's true style he will not be beaten and is committed to raising awareness about MND and to help others.

MND is a rare condition that can affect anyone at any age but is more common in the over 50s. It affects the nerves (motor neurones) which means movement is affected, along with a range of other symptoms including slurred speech & difficulty swallowing.

Out of Andrew's love of outdoor activities and comm

itment to cycling to work, Miles for MND was born. From 5th to 11th September, Novuna colleagues (along with Andrew's family and friends) will be showing their support by cycling, swimming, rowing, walking, jogging, skipping, dog walking and horse riding (amongst other activities) to achieve a target of 20,051 miles.

Why 20,051? Andrew commuted from Skipton to work in Leeds by bike, once a week for 7 yrs. This was a 64 mile round trip which comes to approx. 20000 miles (impressive hey!) and we have added his age at diagnosis, 51. We would like to beat that target!

The money raised will be matched by Novuna and donated to the MND Association who fund research, improve care, and provide support for those living with or affected by MND.

Technology and star gazing are a few of Andrew's passions. He has already banked his voice and shared feedback on the technology used and future roadmap.

Stargazing well lets just say we can all be stars and support him in raising awareness to support Andrew, his family and others.
