Story

Mick’s Heroes was created when we decided to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks following our dad’s devastating diagnosis with an incurable brain tumour.

We completed the Y3P challenge and took part in other fundraising efforts such as Wear A Hat Day and the 10,000 Steps a Day in February challenge, and with help from our family, friends and community, raised money for Brain Tumour Research.

Seeing our dad’s positivity in the face of his life-altering and devastating diagnosis, he was our motivation to raise as much money as possible for Brain Tumour Research and to keep fighting to help find a cure and fund research.

We sadly lost our dad in September 2023, he fought the hardest battle of his life and gave his all. Our dad is our hero, our inspiration and we will be extraordinarily proud of him forever. He is our motivation to continue to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in hopes that one day, there will be a cure for all those who are going through this and those whose lives may be changed by this.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
