Story
In 2024, Mechanics for Africa plans to open a new Computer Centre, welcoming our first 15 students to study for a Certificate in Computer Studies.
Thanks to funding received, primarily from The BEIT Trust, we have ‘broken ground’ and builders are working hard to complete the development of two new classrooms in time for the start of the new academic year.
But we still need £15,000 to complete the internal works and fit out. Without your help now, we will not be ready to welcome the new students in January.
Why do we want to start offering this new course?
The auto industry in Zambia is traditionally male-dominated and 90% of our students are men. We want to encourage more young women to study with Mechanics for Africa by offering a new qualification in computer studies.
Providing training in bookkeeping, office productivity software, entrepreneurship, computer networking, and business communication skills, the new course will provide our students with access to an array of new professional opportunities.
How can you help?
Please help Mechanics for Africa by Buying a Brick.
For a minimum donation of £25, you can reserve your brick within our special mural brick wall inside the new centre.
Either buy it in your own name or dedicate your brick to someone special. We will transfer the name and message onto the wall. Each ‘brick’ has space for 32 characters over two lines.
Please donate and write your message in the comments. Be sure to check your spelling before submitting!
All donations will be used to complete the Computer Centre.
Please Buy a Brick today and help us change the lives of more young people in Zambia.
Thank you.
