Story
On Saturday 18 May a group of Metro readers and staff, charity supporters and people who have been impacted by childhood cancer, will be taking on an epic challenge to raise money for the amazing charity Young Lives vs Cancer.
Our 58K hike along the rugged Jurassic Coast will be tough, but it will be nothing compared to what so many families have to go through when they hear the word 'cancer'.
It's a disease that is shocking, overwhelming, isolating… and completely unfair. Especially when you’re young. It takes over your life. Treatment is gruelling and your ambitions and dreams suddenly seem very far away.
That’s why Young Lives vs Cancer fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives. They provide grants and free accommodation close to hospital to help with spiralling costs. Their care teams are on hand to help families with everything from getting benefits to treatment closer to home. And they lobby the government to make sure they get the support they’re entitled to. They're here to make sure young cancer patients can focus on getting their lives back on track.
