Story
Merton Giving Week returns for its third year. Our official week of fundraising and celebration of local giving takes place from 30th November to 6th December 2020.
2020 has been an incredibly tough year for so many residents and now, more than ever, people are turning to local charitable organisations for support to help them through difficult times. Local charities need our help to help those in need.
We've witnessed such inspiring acts of kindness during the pandemic and, in the run up to the Christmas season, we would like to build on this heart-warming community spirit to continue to make a positive difference. Our focus for this year's Merton Giving is to support charities who help those in our community that are experiencing food insecurity. The demand for food during the pandemic has escalated sharply with people looking for help to feed their families, including those that cannot access food or cannot afford food.
All donations will go towards the Food Insecurity strand of the Merton Giving Coronavirus Fund - Response, Resilience and Recovery.
Since the pandemic began and in just six short months, the Merton Giving Coronavirus Fund, supported over 70 charities with grant funding totalling over £210,000. Your donation will enable us to support more charities to help more people experiencing food insecurity.
