Our charity is at severe risk of permanent closure.

Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we have had to make the difficult decision to close the Centre with immediate effect to protect our vulnerable service users.

The current social distancing advice and having to close the Centre so abruptly has put a halt to almost all forms of income generation activities. Income from room hire; the cafe and retail space; community fundraising and planned events; and the contributions our service users make towards their therapies have all stopped.

That is why we are asking for your support now. We are extremely concerned about our future - our Charity has already faced a very difficult financial time and there are no cash reserves to help us through this unprecedented situation.

We offer a vital service there is no other facility like it in Cornwall - a whole group of vulnerable people will face a negative impact on their physical, social and mental well-being without the therapies and support we provide.

Without income, we cannot pay our bills and while we may negotiate a break in the short-term, these costs will mount up and we will not have the funds to pay.

Even with the Centre closed temporarily, we still plan to regularly check-in on our service users who have gone into self-isolation we will be doing this through telephone and online contact; delivering essential food and medical supplies; live streaming of exercise sessions; support with benefits advice and sign-posting of our support services. Importantly we need staff to find alternative ways to raise funds in the short-term and we will continue to approach Trusts and seek donations.

We are launching an emergency appeal today to ensure our doors can re-open tomorrow.
