Story

125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male.

That's not okay. That's why the Mental Health World Cup is supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in 2024, so they can continue to support anyone whos struggling with life.

CALM is a suicide prevention charity who are taking a stand against suicide. They do it through their life-saving helpline and webchat, culture-changing campaigns, and by bringing people together to reject living miserably.

The Mental Health World Cup is the UKs biggest and best community-led 5-a-side footy tournament - and this year its taking over QPRs home ground again - massive! The concept is simple. One day. 40 teams. One top notch day of football. Oh, and a whole lot of cash and awareness raised in memory of MHWC founder Giancarlos brother, Lanfranco.

I lost my brother Lanfranco to suicide over ten years ago. After he passed we hosted a 5-a-side World Cup at the park we played in growing up. We loved the idea of bringing men together to play football and support and learn about CALM's life-saving work." - Giancarlo, Founder and organiser of the Mental Health World Cup
