Story
Aiden and Sarah's story - Mind in Salford is a life saver!
Aiden is a 36 year old dad of two. He works 35 hours a week as a HGV driver, and his partner Sarah works 3 jobs around Aiden's hours. The family of 4 live in Salford. Aiden was struggling to cope, and came to the Mind in Salford offices with a very low mood. The families bills had become too big for Aiden and Sarah to cover each month. They already went to a food bank each Saturday, and with their work patterns, and the children, they never saw each other. They had reached breaking point, and something had to change.
In desperation, and as a last resort, Aiden got in touch with Mind in Salford. Their Advice service listened to Aiden and Sarah, and together they made a plan on how they were going to tackle the problem of the rising cost of living.
After 4 visits with the Advice service, Aiden's low mood had started to lift.
Aiden said 'Without the services of Mind in Salford I would not be here to see my two boys grow up. It got that bad'.
Sarah said 'we were working all hours, day and night, for nothing. Mind in Salford helped us to access the support we needed and I can't thank them enough. I still have my family, all four of us, but that could have been very different.'
Mind in Salford would like to thank Aiden and Sarah for sharing their story. For more information on the services provided by Mind in Salford please visit www.mindinsalford.org.uk
