Story

We care for around 2,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients and their families each year in our Macmillan Cancer Care Unit. The unit is made up of the Lawrence Ward and the Galton Day Unit. We also have a lovely tranquil garden dedicated to patients, carers and visitors.

We take a holistic, personalised approach to each patient, providing high quality clinical care and supporting them and their families with complementary therapy, advice and support. Clinical support is delivered by consultant oncologists, haematology nurses, and chemotherapy nurses working alongside a team of administrators and volunteers.

Our Macmillan Positive Living Team, made up of social workers, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and clinical nurse specialists, offers patients a range of complementary therapy and support for their overall wellbeing.

Through your generosity we can support staff to deliver the best possible care to cancer patients and their families in Medway and Swale during their treatment journey.

Thank you for your support.
