The LIGHT House provides 4 special events for their clients. With our goal of $3,000, this will help support all 4 events! Below you can find more information about each event.

The LIGHT House Thanksgiving Basket Drive

Thanksgiving- The week before Thanksgiving we provide food baskets for any of our families who need them. Baskets include all nonperishable items for side dishes and a frozen turkey or chicken (which ever the family prefers). During this time of high food prices and inflation, this is a big help to our families during the holiday season!

The LIGHT House Outreach Christmas

The week before Christmas we gather together to celebrate with a big meal for our Outreach families. Different stations are set up throughout the room for kids and parents to do holiday crafting, photo booth, sometimes Santa and other activities! Families eat and participate in the activities then gifts are distributed. Typically, our goal is to have a gift card for every mother, child and baby! This allows the parent to pick out an individualized gift for their child. Other gift donations including goodie bags for mothers & children are distributed. If we receive Toys for Tots, those gifts are also provided to the families during the party if possible.

Back to School Family Fun Night

This event helps provide school supplies for our Outreach families. Backpacks are stuffed with supplies and children are able to pick the design/color they want. Carnival style and/or yard games are provided (depending on weather and what our volunteer group can provide). A "spin the wheel" station is always a hit for the little ones to win some prizes. In 2022, we were able to distribute 40 backpacks full of school supplies.Our families were so grateful to receive the needed supplies, to get the school year started off right!

End of School Year & Celebrating Summer Picnic

This event typically occurs the last part of May. We gather at Loose Park and provide dinner. (Grilling burgers & hot dogs, providing sides, drinks & desserts). This is a fun family event where parents can connect outside of the class setting. Yard activities are provided for the children and everyone enjoys an evening of fellowship!
