On the 12th of May 2022 a group of our volunteers will be undertaking a 20-hour long trip to Malawi to hand deliver various aid to our brothers and sisters in need. Malawi is one of the poorest the countries in the world, with the rural areas being amongst the poorest in the world that have high rates of malnutrition, waterborne diseases, unemployment and poor housing conditions.

Many villagers live on one meal a day, a meal which we would not even consider a snack here in the UK. Children often sleep hungry, and parents feel helpless as they cannot afford to feed their families due to the chronic poverty. During winter the villagers face more worries as inadequate housing conditions leads to suffering in cold temperatures.

Our volunteers will be preparing large food parcels containing Flour, Rice, Oil, Beans, Sugar, Salt, Winter blanket and more. We aim to distribute across a few villages and to as many villagers as we can (minimum 500 parcels) . Each parcel costs just £35 and is zakat applicable. All donations will go 100% to the cause (we have a 100% donation policy).

Green Crescent Aid UK has been working in the rural areas of Malawi and has a well-established base in the rural areas in the south.
