Story
At any one time there are around 24,000 people living with Myeloma in the UK, however, it remains one of the longest delays to diagnosis of all cancers. That is why Myeloma Awareness Week is a very important annual campaign and we need your help to make as many people as possible aware of what a diagnosis can bring. This year between the 21-27 June we're inviting you to host a digital (virtual) event of your choosing, where in addition to raising awareness, your fundraising will allow us to continue to support patients and their families and work towards our goal of making myeloma history. Your event can be big or small with any theme that you wish - what does your Big Community Night In look like? Is it a quiz, movie night, karaoke or dinner party? Are you asking guests to dress in fancy dress, black tie or PJs?
You can create your very own JustGiving page by clicking on the 'Start Fundraising' button above or you can use this page to leave a donation or message of support. Either way please share it with friends and family to raise as much money as possible. We've lots of great ideas for fundraising at home so make sure you contact our Fundraising Team at fundraising@myeloma.org.uk if you need some inspiration or would like to talk about your plans.
No matter what you do, one thing is certain, the money you raise will help support patients and their families affected by myeloma. Thank you for supporting Myeloma UK and have a great Big Community Night In.
P.S. Myeloma Awareness Week runs from 21-27 June and we'd like to encourage as many Big Community Nights in during that time as possible but if that's not possible you can always hold yours anytime throughout June - just let us know the date!
