Story
Since 1988, Rhino Ark has been at the leading edge of mountain forests conservation. To date, we are fully engaged in conservation of the Aberdare, Mount Kenya, Mau Eburu and South Western Mau natural forest ecosystems and their wildlife. These high forests, known as water towers, are vital to Kenyas well-being. millions of Kenyans are completely dependent on them for their livelihoods.
Rhino Arks goal is to reverse decades of human caused degradation of the South Western Mau forest and restore it to its once-pristine natural state. This will be achieved by growing trees in the heavily degraded areas of the forest planting healthy seedlings and actively caring for them for a period of 3 years, the time needed for seedlings to be able to take hold and survive on their own.
The average cost to replant one hectare in South Western Mau would be $2,200.00 at a seedling density of 1,100 seedlings per hectare. This includes the cost of micro fencing and care of the seedlings for a period of 3 years. We are seeking at least committed individuals to support these reforestation efforts. You can make a difference by helping us achieve the goal by contributing in any of the following ways:
Make a one-off donation for tree planting.

Adopting a 10-hectare section of forest to grow trees and have it named after you
