Story

On Sunday 23 April our CEO, Matthew Kershaw, will run the iconic London Marathon to help fund new life-saving paediatric equipment and support staff wellbeing projects.

Matthew is a seasoned runner and regularly runs to benefit his physical and mental health. The 2023 marathon will be Matthew's eighth which he is hoping to complete in under three hours 45 minutes.

In 2021 he took part in the South Coast Challenge Ultra Marathon and ran 100km on the South Coast from Eastbourne to Arundel. Matthew is also a former Ironman UK competitor.

Donations to Matthew's marathon challenge will help to purchase new paediatric transport ventilators to support critically unwell children at CUH and support staff wellbeing projects.

Fundraisers like Matthew really help the charity to keep funding vital staff and patient projects which are so vital to enhance the experience of our Trust for as many people as possible. Good luck and thank you Matthew!

Laura Kennedy, Head of Fundraising,

The London Marathon route takes in some of the most famous landmarks in the city including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. Thank you for your support.
