Story
Our maternity department team is taking on the challenge of Tough Mudder in Henley-on-Thames on the 9 May to raise funds for our maternity services through Hampshire Hospitals Charity. The team currently has 19 members, made up of staff, family and friends who are taking on this challenge!
‘What started as an idea in ultrasound as a group activity quickly evolved to a challenge that grew and grew through our maternity team. After hearing about how we could help on the CTG upgrade project and looking at improvements that could be made to the ultrasound department, we decided to run for a cause with the opportunity to make a real difference in maternity for our patients and staff. Every bit helps! Some of the team have already done a Tough Mudder before, so know what they were signing up for, as for the rest… they will find out!” – Elyse, Midwife Sonographer.
Tough Mudder is one of the UK’s most iconic obstacle course events - over a challenging course through muddy trails, forest terrain, and steep hills with tough obstacles designed to test our strength, teamwork and determination.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of west Berkshire and cares for patients in Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover and Alton hospitals. As their charity, Hampshire Hospitals Charity raises funds to support patients, staff and volunteers. They do this through refurbishing wards, investing in equipment and research, funding staff welfare initiatives and so much more. Your donation will support their CTG upgrade appeal as well as wider support within maternity services.
Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated by us all!
